The EFAW course is designed for low risk environments and as a contingency for First Aid cover in the event that your Workplace First Aider is unavailable.The course contains the following:The role of the first aiderEffective Casualty CommunicationContents of First Aid box & how to avoiding cross infectionRecording of incidents and accidentsAssessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergencyAdminister First Aid to a casualty whoare unconsciousrequire CPRare chokingare wounded or bleedingare in shockhave minor conditions which include: minor cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns & scalds, small splintersBoth Level 2 & 3 First Aid courses require a Re Qualification course after a 3 year period. The First Aid at Work course Re Qualification course is a 2 day course and the 1 Day EFAW requires the candidate to repeat the course again. A half day skills update is recommended for both courses although is not mandatory.
